  • For assistance with a lost or missing code, please contact us at our Disney Studios Help website. Please be sure to include the following information:

    - The 6-digit stock number that is listed on the base of the spine of your DVD or Blu-ray package. This number will start with either a 0 or a 1.

    - The disc artwork number from your DVD or Blu-ray. Look at the printed label side of your disc, the disc artwork number is found at the very end and is 5-7 digits in length.

    - The UPC number located under the barcode on your DVD or Blu-ray package.

  • There are a number of reasons you may have trouble playing a movie. Please try some or all of the suggestions below to resolve the problem.

    For downloaded movies:

    - If the app has frozen, force-close it by double-tapping the device Home button and swiping the Disney Movies Anywhere app up (Apple devices), or by tapping the Recent Apps button and swiping the Disney Movies Anywhere app to the side (Android devices). After closing the app, re-open it, sign back in to your account, and try playing your movie again.

    - Sign out of your account by going to your Settings on the app, then force-close the Disney Movies Anywhere app by double-tapping the Home button and swiping up (Apple devices), or by tapping the Recent Apps button and swiping the Disney Movies Anywhere app to the side (Android devices). After closing the app, re-open it, sign back in to your account, and try playing your movie again.

    - Delete the movie from your device and then re-download it. Try playing the movie again once the movie has finished downloading.

    - In some cases, you may need to delete the Disney Movies Anywhere app and re-download it to your device. Once the app has downloaded, log into your account, re-download the movie and try to play it again.

    For movie streaming:

    Poor video quality and buffering during movie streaming are usually due to slow internet connection speed, less than optimal software, and/or a computer or device's processing speed. If your internet speed is below the minimum requirements of 1.4 Mbs, streaming will not work optimally.

    If your internet connection is 1 Mbps or above, here are a few recommendations:

    - Make sure you don't have additional programs, web pages, or active downloads.

    - Moving your device closer to your wireless router or switching to a wired connection may help improve poor connectivity.

    - Pause the video a few minutes to allow buffering.

    - If you're on a laptop that's using battery power, adjust your battery settings for higher performance.

    - Play a movie from your Collection

    - Tap the Closed Captioning icon, located in the upper right-hand corner of the movie screen. When the speech bubble is black, captioning is turned off; when the speech bubble is white, captioning is on.

    - Play a movie from your Collection

    - Click the Closed Captioning icon in the upper right-hand corner of the movie screen. Select "English" to turn on captioning; to turn off captioning, select "None."

    On the Disney Movies Anywhere Android TV app:

    - Play the movie you would like to watch

    - Select the Closed Captioning icon located under the player controls. When the Closed Captioning icon is white, captioning is turned off; when the Closed Captioning icon is blue, captioning is on.

    On the Roku Disney Movies Anywhere Channel:

    - Play the movie you would like to watch

    - Click the settings (*) button on your remote

    - Press the OK button until captions mode is on

    - Scroll down and click OK to save caption settings

    On the Disney Movies Anywhere Xbox 360 App:

    - Play the movie you would like to watch

    - Press A on your controller for menu options and select the Closed Caption icon

    - Use the "Closed Captions + SDH" to turn captioning on or off

    On an Amazon Kindle device:

    - Swipe down from the top of the screen

    - Select Settings

    - Select Accessibility

    - Turn Captions On

    - Chose your style of captions

    - Tap back button until you return to the Disney Movies Anywhere app

    On the Android Disney Movies Anywhere app:

    - Go to your Settings

    - Locate "Accessibility"

    - Locate "Hearing or Captions"

    - Select "Google Subtitles (CC) or Captions"

    - Choose one of the predefined styles (Default, Large Text, or Classic).

    Please note that the location for Closed Captions on Android Devices may differ on each device.

    On an Android TV device:

    - Go to Settings on the Android TV Home screen

    - Locate Accessibility under Preferences

    - Select Captions to turn them on them on and select Configure to customize the format

    On the Xbox 360:

    - Go to your Settings

    - Select System

    - Click Console Settings

    - Click Display

    - Select Closed Captioning

    - Choose Use Custom Style and customize the style you would like to use

    On a Roku device:

    - Go to your Settings

    - Click Captions

  • To turn on the Audio Description through the Disney Movies Anywhere iOS app, follow the steps below:

    1. Open the Disney Movies Anywhere iOS app

    2. Select "Settings" (Located under "More")

    3. Select "Audio Description"

    4. Toggle on "Audio Description"

    Once turned on, the feature can be accessed by selecting the "AD Audio Description" on the "Features" tab.

  • To sync and play the audio description for an eligible movie, the movie must be playing on a separate device (phone, tablet, TV, or theater screen). When the movie is playing at a sufficiently-audible volume, tap the "Sync & Play Audio" button in the Disney Movies Anywhere iOS app for your chosen movie. Please ensure that you allow the Disney Movies Anywhere iOS app to access your microphone so that it can listen and sync successfully (you can allow access through the pop-up that appears on the first sync or through your iPhone or iPad settings). The movie should then begin to sync and play the audio description through your headphones or the speakers of your device. Please make sure the volume on your headphones is turned up. If your headphones have a microphone, make sure the microphone volume is also turned up. Note that audio description will be streaming from your device if you have not previously downloaded the audio.

    After turning on Audio Description, you can access movies that include audio description by going to the Features tab and tapping on the "Movies with Audio Description" button in the center of the page.

  • To restrict streaming or downloading of movies on a device based on movie rating, you must first turn on Parental Controls for that device. To set rating restrictions, please follow the directions below.

    1. Go to "Settings"

    2. Select "Parental Controls"

    3. Turn on Parental Controls

    4. Select the rating(s) you want to restrict

    These restrictions will only apply to feature length films.

    rating restrictions within Disney Movies Anywhere will only be restricted on the device on which you adjust your settings. For example, if you turn on Basic Parental Controls from your desktop computer, the app on your portable device will not automatically have Basic Parental Controls turned on. Please adjust settings on every device on which you would like to moderate ratings.

    Note: Disney Movies Anywhere does not contain movies with a rating grater than PG-13.

    3. Select "Update Profile" or "Edit My Profile." You may be asked to verify your username/password at the point.
